You might have heard a little rumor going around that September is the most important month for a fashion publication. Not sure, but there might have been a documentary filmed around that very difficult task of releasing the thickest of all issues that year. Well, no longer is it grand enough for the magazines to print a book, and GQ is stepping it up come September.
The men's magazine will have a new app entittled GQ Live! which will consist of print content that comes alive through videos, 3-D features, and interactive social and e-commerce aspects. Think along the lines of videos you might see when you're shopping online. You hover over images to see the pair of pants, but then you can also watch a video of the model moving, even walking in the pants so you can see the piece come alive. I imagine the app hyping up the ability to not just see clothes styled on a model, but move on a model. Most men are oblivious to simple things like the length of their pants and need to see a well-dressed man move, walk, and sit so they can memorize where the bottom of the pants should hit. It's no longer about telling us what to wear, it's showing us exactly how to wear it in the most creative way possible.
